busy again

Ugh.  Waded through 200+ friends' posts at speed; sick of debate discussion.

I hab a hedde code; I am a walking ball of snot who cannot take the day off because of Massive Project[tm].

I had a nice weekend, though; elizabethnmafia  came up and painted the garage bathroom, and listened to me ramble on about anything and everything very politely.  I talk too much; thanks for listening without obviously rolling your eyes.

Embroidery design continues apace; I have four designs almost at copying stage.  Have to write historical notes (I am told people want them, and what the people want, they must have).

Gotta work.

I had a great time and I enjoyed our many conversations very much. :)

I think the ball of snot thing is a product of the sudden chilly weather. Everyone I know has it to one extent or another today.

Tea! And feel better soon.

Yay new embroidery designs!!!

Not that I am a drug pusher, but...
I've found that Zicam always cuts the length of my cold significantly.
That and my special garlic-chicken soup. When you can't breathe, who worries about garlic breath? :-)

I'll second the Zicam.

Zicam is excellent stuff, though I'm concerned by some anecdotal reports of it permanently impairing the sense of smell.
Cold-eze also contains zinc, and I find usually helps mine immensely.

My crewel yarns came! Yippee.
And my looking into the silk/wool economic conditions is moving along. ::happy dance::

I refuse to believe in Head Colds ©: Much like ROUS’s, unless one launches itself out of a tree at me in the Fire Swamp – they don’t exist. Damn Dread Pirate costume is like some kind of rodent aphrodisiac or something….

Following the "I check my LJ more than e-mail" directive, I've got a question totally off topic: I heard a rumor you used to teach a fencing class for females. Is this true? would you be willing to knock the dust off of it and try it out again at the Rapier Academy we're putting on in May?

As long as the rapier academy is not may 1-4 (I am already registered for Costume Con), I will happily refurbish it and tune it up for teaching.

It was more about adjusting to sexism on the field back then (which tells you how long ago it was), but it can be heavily refurbished to reflect my current feelings about teaching women (which is what it was partially about) and how women can approach fighting. It's a unisex class; both women *and* men can (and should!) attend.

Oh no, I hope you feel better soon!

... your garage has a bathroom? Zomg.

I should explain; we hold small group events (about 30 people) at least once (and sometimes twice) a year, and sometimes we provide the land for it, which is when everyone camps. So that the guest bathroom doesn't have a huge line, we're putting in an extra bathroom (shower only) in the garage. Eventually, the upper level of the garage will become my studio, and then, once my studio is built (y'know, 10+ years down the road, the studio will become extra guest quarters. :)

It sounds terribly decadent, now that I think about it. But we do have 60 acres to play with, and I have no intention of trying large-scale farming, so we have the room.

I think a shower in the garage is a great idea. Maybe not in the suburbs, but definitely on acreage. It's that whole, "If you think I'm going to let you come into this house all covered in mud and god-knows-what else, you've got another thing coming! Go hose yourself off in the garage," aesthetic.

I think it sounds _fantastic_. Large-scale farming isn't exactly the most fun thing in the world (I had it easy this year with only hay, too!) so enjoy yourself!
