Then, I find that several of my friends have had an awful weekend, and I am heartsick for all of them. I still love all of you; I know it doesn't help one damn bit, but I do. So much, I'm typing this with tears in my eyes.
(It's a good thing I have a closed-door office; let's just leave it at that.)
I'm also worried about house stuff. We still have an awful lot to do before the October Gardiner's event, and I really don't know if it will get finished in time. We really don't have a weekend off between now and October 18th, and I'm starting to begrudge the weekend I'm up at Plimoth.
We spent this weekend hanging insulation in the garage (we did not finish; that will happen this weekend), then that has to be inspected, then we need to hang drywall, then tile the bathroom and get the toilet, sink, and shower in and finished so we have a working bathroom in the garage for the people camping (closer than the house).
Outside, we need to re-blaze a bunch of paths, field-mow the entire camping area (after clearing all the huge branches out of the undergrowth), chain-saw at least two trees off the paths, field-mow the parking areas, leaf-blow the paths, field-mow the fighting areas in the woods, and spray for poison ivy.
I'll be spraying next weekend, as I'm going down Thursday afternoon on my own so we can accept the rest of the insulation and the drywall when they're delivered on Friday. Bob will be joining me Friday evening, and I'll be spending my first night alone at the farm ever.
No, I'm not scared of the Boogie Monster.
