Day of Doom

You know, I started today with a sense of doom, and nothing has happened so far to change that feeling. To start with, I've spent the last hour just trying to get my text box to work so I can post an entry. It's been just awesome.

Then, I find that several of my friends have had an awful weekend, and I am heartsick for all of them. I still love all of you; I know it doesn't help one damn bit, but I do. So much, I'm typing this with tears in my eyes.

(It's a good thing I have a closed-door office; let's just leave it at that.)

I'm also worried about house stuff. We still have an awful lot to do before the October Gardiner's event, and I really don't know if it will get finished in time. We really don't have a weekend off between now and October 18th, and I'm starting to begrudge the weekend I'm up at Plimoth.

We spent this weekend hanging insulation in the garage (we did not finish; that will happen this weekend), then that has to be inspected, then we need to hang drywall, then tile the bathroom and get the toilet, sink, and shower in and finished so we have a working bathroom in the garage for the people camping (closer than the house).

Outside, we need to re-blaze a bunch of paths, field-mow the entire camping area (after clearing all the huge branches out of the undergrowth), chain-saw at least two trees off the paths, field-mow the parking areas, leaf-blow the paths, field-mow the fighting areas in the woods, and spray for poison ivy.

I'll be spraying next weekend, as I'm going down Thursday afternoon on my own so we can accept the rest of the insulation and the drywall when they're delivered on Friday. Bob will be joining me Friday evening, and I'll be spending my first night alone at the farm ever.

No, I'm not scared of the Boogie Monster.

I'm sorry you're heartsick. :-( Hugs, hugs, hugs!

I too was having LJ text box problems last night posting, but it seemed to clear up. I'd understand if you want to cancel on Plimoth, but it might be a break you need. :)

Plimoth wouldn't happen to be the last weekend of September would it :)????

Actually we're headed up the 12-15th. The last weekend is the 20th Baronial Birthday for Lochmere, a local group.

No, I still want to go. :) I'm going to Lochmere, too.

I was just panicking a little - wait 'til right before the event! At least I'll be down at the farm for the entire week before, so you won't have to hear me whine in my journal.

Well darn, I recently found out about Coronation in the Boston area that weekend, but was still hoping. Just leave some work for us :).

No - the textbox issue is a bug from their new update - if you click on "help", it's the first thing that comes up.

You should still be able to post in html - go to change settings and switch to html default. It's a pain, since you'll have to manually enter everything, but it worked for me.

Housework of that magnitude feels never-ending and is a TON of work, but hopefully the weather will be nice for you for the days you'll be outside. House sounds fantastic, thought. :) And then people will be OH WOW LOOK AT THIS HOUSE and ooh and aah and it will be fantastic. Especially if they bring cookies.

I am also not afraid of the thing that doesn't live under the bed. And if I don't walk NEXT to the bed, whatever isn't under it can't grab me by the ankle.

I'll refrain from sunshine-y platitudes, cause it's rainin' where I am, too.
