More on University handouts

I've gotten some questions on the content of the University handouts, so, herewith, a description.

The handouts cover five of the six sessions (the other being a Q&A session that was student-driven), and cover building a persona (with a lot of information about our personas), clothing, furniture, food and tableware, and pastimes, heavily focused on the Elizabethan era (with a little side stuff about persona).  Each handout is at least five pages, most are more, with lots and lots of pictures, and a bibliography.

Basically, I like to write, so there's quite a bit of wordiness.  The handouts are also an adjunct to the class, so they're designed to be picked up six months later, and still be useful, not dependent on your perfect memory of everything that was said in class.

Also, Bob made a very good suggestion:  I can send people the documents electronically for free (since the cost is basically materials) if they can receive large file attachments.  They're in Word, I don't remember offhand how big they are, but I can update this evening.  So, if you'd like to receive them electronically instead, e-mail me, and let me know whether you want them in one big e-mail or five single-document e-mails.  If you've already e-mailed me for a cd, but would prefer to get the electronic version, let me know, and I'll take you off the CD list.

I didn't offer this initially, since I wasn't sure how many of my readers can support a large file transfer.  But, if you can, you'll save yourself some cash, and me some time, so I'm all for it.  Like I said, the price of the CD basically just covers costs, so I'm not making any money off it.

Anyway.  Choices.  Thar they iz.
