Imitating Twitter without actually being Twitter...

...I am a bit busy this morning - I have data to compile. And then (I think), possibly, a meeting. I have an entry in my head, there's just not time to write it right now.

...I think that's less than 140 characters (I'm way too lazy to count) (though I'm sure one of you will, won't you? Do it.  You know you want to.  Doooo iiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.).  I find I can't really warm to something that doesn't allow me to ramble on at length about whatever comes into my head - I can't even fit all my comments in the customer comment boxes when I'm ordering stuff. Which is not to say Twitter does not have its uses - I hear it's really good for Facebook - it's just not the format for me. I'm into the "forum for any insane idea I have that I can then bore you with at length" form of blogging. I'm not quite a slow blogger, but I'm definitely trending towards that end of the spectrum in blogging.

On the other hand, sometimes I like fast and stupid.  And typing the word "blogging" over and over again.

Eventually it starts to look like the sound one makes when coughing up phlegm.  Which, when I read over some of my entries, seems about right.

The Enormous Silent Epidemic

What was I saying about Twitter-style posts?  But seriously now...

From shangy_feminism (and the ever-awesomepopelizbet), this is a link to an incredible article I think everyone should know about and read:

Thanks for taking the time, if you do read it. For some people, this will be a timely read.  *Warning:  triggery* and for some, NSFW (text only).
