Fun Times!

I had an *awesome* weekend.  I assume pinkleader has posted pics to her Facebook, and I'm afraid we didn't get pics of her cuteness on my camera, but here's me and lisettelaroux:

That's Miss Thang in her steampunk:  My blouse and petticoat, her skirt design.  Super cute!  Note goggles hanging off her skirt.  :)

And here's me - this is the steampunk outfit I wore to CostumeCon a couple of years back, with a black blouse, and different boots, paired with a totally awesome leather corset.  My coat is off so I can show off the corset, both with and without belt:

That thing was laced *tight*.  The only problem was that it popped a couple of bones out the bottom seam halfway through the night - the bones are a little too long.  I'll fix that by replacing the bones.  The corset was an experimental floor model, so I got it discounted, and I'm okay with a few little easy to fix problems.

But I had an incredibly great time, and it's taking me a couple of days to recover.

I don't remember where I got it, I'm afraid - but it was from one of the clothing catalogues I regularly get. It may even have been the Victorian Trading Co. catalogue, but they don't carry anything like it now. Bob riveted a little copper loop onto it to hook my pistol onto. :)

A lot of my accessories are from judicious and lucky shopping around - you never know what you're going to find in a regular store - and heavy haunting of the thrifts, which is where I scored the awesome boots I'm wearing. On Sunday I switched out the blue laces for harlequin-check black and white ribbon (which I like so much, I'm keeping on them) so pinkleader and I could go to an Irish pub where she was the Bansidhe, and I was the ghost-hunter. :)

Time for me to get back out to the local swap meets and look for stuff. (Though I remember trying to dicker for a leather purse I wanted for a costume and the woman just wouldn't budge on the price. It wasn't worth *that* much for a costume piece. :)
