Oh dear.

At the beginning of the month, I left my beautiful Italian cashmere wrap from theodorad  in the conference room at work, and have not found it, despite asking.  I thought I had found it, but it turned out someone had the identical wrap (same label from Italy and everything).  I just sent out an e-mail to everyone, but I am terribly afraid it is gone forever.

I'm really upset about it, not least that no-one in the office turned it in.

Oh, no!
I'm so sorry to hear this!

I've been in your shoes (although the item in question wasn't a shawl) and haven't forgotten how it feels.

That you cant even trust your collegues is disgusting.
Last summer i saved 3 peaches in the window because they were not ready to be eaten yeat, and i wrote a little note saying keep your fingers for yourself its Bjarnes, and guess what?
Next day they were gone!
I love peaches, but the stores have them two early they are not eatable, must lie some days first.

Huh. I find it odd that your coworker just happens to have the exact same wrap. Very odd.

I'm really sorry and hope you find something you like even better.

Uh, yeah. I'm pretty sure (certain at this point) that she's lying to me, but I have no proof. >:(

Sadly, that was my first thought. I mean really? The exact same one?

Steal it back. =) ("Yea! I found it!")

I had a "friend" in high school who showed up wearing a scarf identical to one that had been stolen out of my car a few weeks previous. She did her best to argue that it was a coincidence until I told it was my mother's church kerchief from when she was girl and it'd be a pretty remarkable event if Macy's suddenly started selling 40-year old scarves.

Ohs nos! Not the warm and fluffy cashmere!
They do sell those at many vendors in Florence - and that's just Florence - so maybe they do have the same scarf. (It'd be nice to believe people are good, right?)

And these coincidences do happen. My college roomie and I almost ended up in a nasty fight about the mixing bowls (they were my grandmother's olive/corning/block print set) until she finally unearth her set at the messy boyfriend's apartment. And, I'm telling you, they were almost identical.

Hope the scarf returns. Lots of people are on vacation this week - maybe it'll turn up next week.

I'm hoping. I have been wearing it constantly, since it's cold at work, and the only reason it got left in the conference room is that we were hustled out for a more important meeting, and I forgot I had draped it on the chair.

I'd like to believe people are good, but they kind of oversold the story, if you know what I mean.
