Reminds me of the Big Orange Monster (Gossamer) from the old bugs bunny cartoons. I actually have a cookie jar for that one. :)

I am fairly certain someone had that in mind when they designed him - he's got the same triangular shape, and the high-set eyes.

The affection for him is growing so much that WW is actually considering making a soft toy for sale. If they do, I'm totally buying one, as will many others, I think - he's a hit on quite a few blogs.

*tee* My first orange marble cat was named Gossamer. Why?

He had the same reaction as the monster to visitors:

"People? AAAAaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!"

*sniff* Miss that kitty every time I see that cartoon.

I can tell you, I felt an instant connection, and I wanted one! Do you remember those "Esuvee" ads, the ones that the auto industry had to put out as a public service thing because they lost a civil suit over how prone they were to rollovers? It showed "Esuvee" rodeo, and herds of "Esuvees" in the wild. In the rodeo one, a little girl is shown holding an "Esuvee" doll - cute, plush, and awesome. I contacted the advertising agency to see if they were putting out a doll, but they never did. *pout*

They come out with these awesome things, the least they can do is make them into toys for us! ;)

See?! Now do you see why I can't say NO to this hunger guy? He's so CUTE!!

Oh, I'll happily steal the first one. In our house pizza is known as "Satan's Flat Bread" or SFB for short. Loves it I does.

My CAR is named Gossamer, and has a little keychain plush of the Hairy Sneaker Monster hanging from the rearview mirror. (It's good to live near a Six Flags.) So of course I love the Hungry Monster!

Thank you! Thank you!!!!!!!! Love the icons!

It's funny that others have been saying he's reminiscent of Gossamer - I've been calling him Mini-Gossamer since I first saw the ads.

Way awesome. At least someone is paying homage to the cute-fuzzy-monster-as-symbol-for-excess. Stupid Sesame Street messing with Cookie Monster...*grumbles*

I had a garby-type question (though here may not be the best place). I thought I remembered you talking about stiffening linen for a coif using...something. Wax paper? Starch? I don't remember. It's supposed to help firm it up a bit while the design is drawn on, and pretty much disappear in the final product. Do you recall what that substance was?

Wax parchment paper - the kind you can use for your freezer or cooking. Iron (on low) it to the underside of the linen, and it keeps it flat for drawing.

Once the design is drawn on, peel it off, and it leaves no trace.

Quilters use regular Reynold's freezer paper the same way.

Yup - I'm all for nutrition education, but messing with Cookie Monster is just WRONG. >:(

Dang it!! Now I must pay for more icon space, or delete one in my stash... Arrrrgh!

I am late but agree that he is cute and totally reminds me of a smaller Gossamer too.

I wonder if he will be around awhile... the commercials are different than most.
