Tengo nada.  I am out of ideas.

So, if you feel brave, ask me a question you always wanted to ask in the comments section.  If I think it's a good question, I'll make a post out of the answer.

If you come to this a few days late, I don't mind - ask away.  I'll be coming back here for ideas.

No obscene questions please; this is a public diary.  What I choose to answer is at my discretion.

Fire away.

"I should have no objection to a repetition of the same life from its beginning, only asking the advantages authors have in a second edition to correct some faults of the first."
---Benjamin Franklin

What would you do differently?

What is your favorite time period/era outside of Elizabethan/early 17th c England?

What are some things that you've seen at SCA events (or other re-enacting types of events) that bug you to no end or that you love to see?

What video games/computer games do you currently own?

What do you feel is the ultimate roll of a peer in the society, and what positive/negative attributes do you see up and coming non peers dealing with that you would like to comment on.

Do you choose the apprentice, or do they choose you?

How did you meet your hubby and what made you know he was the one?

How did you get started in the SCA (how did you find out about it, etc.)

What is your favorite color? =)
Feb. 5th, 2008 05:08 pm (UTC)
#3 isn't going to get a post. :) I like red. Most people would guess black, since it is the colour of 95% of my wardrobe, but I really like red. Black is just super-easy to match and makes my skin look pale (and the red hair pop).

Do you have any strange superstitious behaviour that you do, almost unconsciously? (When I spill salt, I throw a pinch of it over my shoulder.)

Does creativity come from nature or nurture?

Do you feel that art programs have any place in public school or should it strictly be learned at home?

How do you feel about using cloned animals for meat and milk?

Dear Attack Laurel:

What is art, and can I hope to find it in the SCA?

What do you feel were the most rewarding and difficult things about being a territorial baroness?

I would also like to hear more about your favorite childhood memories.

I might write about #2, but I have made a personal decision not to discuss my experience as a Baroness in a public forum. Come sit and chat with me sometime, and I'll tell you, if you're interested. :)

Sign me up for that party!

You couldn't pay me to be a territorial baroness.
Feb. 6th, 2008 03:34 pm (UTC)
Fortunately(?) the job doesn't pay :) heh.

It's not that bad, really ;)

What is one thing that people probably don't know about you that you would like them to?
Feb. 5th, 2008 05:49 pm (UTC)
Was there a time you thought you'd have to be braver than you ever thought you could...and then gutted up & did it?

You hear a voice behind you say your name. Turning, you see what, to your eye, apears to be a creature/being not of this world. The creature says:

"Kneel before Zod...errr....God, yes, God, quite right, meant to say God."

What do you say/do to confirm this is indeed God?

Now you are thin, beautiful, married to a dashing lawyer, successful, purchased a new home, etc. is there anyone from your past that you would like to bump into and be "accidentally" brilliant and terribly happy in their presence?
Feb. 5th, 2008 07:16 pm (UTC)
This question is made of win:)
Feb. 6th, 2008 10:52 am (UTC)
Well, my ex-husband already knows how successful I am without him, so, I'm pretty good, actually. :)

Once I came to the US, I really wasn't bullied the way I was in the UK, so I pretty much left all that behind me.

I had a mad crush on my choir teacher in high school, so I wouldn't mind running into him again, (but I think he was gay).

Are you inspired to create thing most strongly by any of these things below? and in which order is their importance to you?

Seeing something done wrong in such a way that it makes you want to do it correctly?

Seeing or reading about a period item that catches your eye and imagination?

A desire to work on a new thing out of your comfort zone?

A desire to have/wear something unique that no one else has anything like?

A desire to have things like your friends have?

Suppose you're coming over for dinner... should I make something you like or something I know I do well?
Feb. 6th, 2008 03:34 am (UTC)
if you could ask anyone thinking about becoming an apprentice three (or 5... or 11...) questions what would they be and what would you hope to learn from those questions? What questions do you like them to ask you and what do you think makes a good question or questions?

Oooh! I have another one!

Once, while researching something else, I came across the website of someone who had make an 'elizabethan' wool jacket similar to the maidstone repro you made, with the insterted gores to shape the bottom, but the back of the sleeve was gathered to allow a larger sleeve to be worn under. I seem to remember that it was worn with one of the Flemish style outfits (which is what I'm wanting to make it for, though my memory could be faulty), clearly as outerwear for a working class woman. I also remember that she mentioned having used the period peicing construction you've discussed (hem and whipstitch). Have you seen anything like this? Can you help me find it?

You just posted a bit about your successful weight-loss and weight maintenance. Having read your site and other mentions of the process, would you be willing to expound on the experience?

Oops, that was me - not that we really know each other. I just feel it's polite to provide a face to connect with a comment!
