Your Beautiful Jacket
This may be a weird question, but, none the less I am going to ask it. Is your new jacket going to be heavy to wear?
It's looking beautiful.

Re: Your Beautiful Jacket
Actually, that's a more relevant question than you think! Many of the jackets that are worked with gold thread can weigh quite a bit more than the original fabric!

Mine will not be too heavy, but it will definitely be stiffer and more solid than unembroidered linen, because the gilt thread will not only reinforce the linen, it will have a lot less give (being metal). The finished jacket will end up feeling like it was made of a heavy brocade, and weigh similarly. :)

Hurray! (For the finished sleeve piece, not for the tired.)

Yup. Only the gold work and the spangles to go on that piece!

(And all the GST on the rest... *groan*)

When I'm retired (in 40 years or so...) I want to be you. (the tired is likely a given, but the *awesomeness*, that takes work!)
